Parts Manager

Summary: This position reports to Office Manager. This job pay starts at $17.00 per hour. Pay increases will be based on performance after 90 days. Keeps the operation running smoothly by overseeing all parts ordering, receiving parts and processing returns. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Facilitates a cooperative and productive working relationship between Office and Field.

§ Orders and receives parts: adds parts to cart; orders parts; creates purchase orders; tracks shipments; returns unneeded parts; tracks backorders; ability to track missing parts.

§ Authorizes and orders parts for manufacture warranties

§ Contacts manufacturer warranty companies directly for assistance with part(s) information.

§ Immediately notify Office Manager if a part is not available via normal vendors.

§ Maintains contact and provides part research assistance for the Service Professionals throughout the workday.

§ Updates van inventories and part locations on van following inventories.

§ Rummages through discarded parts to ensure that there are no good parts/cores.

§ Authorized to deal with upset customer calls that require or request a manager.

§ Perform other duties as required or requested by supervisor(s).

 

Reoccurring Tasks:

§ Orders, tracks, and receives customer’s parts and used truck stock daily

§ Searches for backordered parts availability daily

§ Replenishes Service Vans

§ Identify opportunities when Service Professionals are able to pick up part(s) from vendor same-day and install same day.

§ Inventories warehouse and front office parts annually (must be done prior to end of year).

§ For all field Service Vans to be fully stocked weekly.

§ Mails back part returns and part cores.

 

Expectations:

§ Company to spend less than 12% of revenue on parts each month.

§ For Demand Average Service Cycle to be less than 2.6 days each month.

 

Experience and Other Requirements:

§ Must have good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products.

§ Be organized and able to multitask.

 

Other Requirements:

§ Use business credit card for job related materials only.

§ Utmost care of facility, vehicle fleet, and supplies.
